With BDC Advisors, Orry has participated on a wide-variety of projects including: revising a strategic plan for a Midwest health system; determining the feasibility of developing a clinically-integrated network for health systems in the Midwest and East Coast: renegotiating managed care contracts for a public hospital in the Midwest; developing a faculty practice plan for a Midwest health system; developing a strategic plan for a clinical department in an academic medical center; and developing an organizational structure for employed physicians in a Midwest health system.
Prior to joining BDC Advisors, Orry was a key member of the senior management team of University Hospitals Health System (UHHS) in Cleveland, Ohio, for 16 years in a number of roles, as that organization grew from a single academic hospital to an integrated delivery system with over $1.7 billion in annual revenue. He initially served UHHS as Senior Vice President at University Hospitals of Cleveland (UHC), responsible for strategic planning, marketing, public relations, and fundraising. He was then promoted to Executive Vice President / COO of UHC, responsible for day-to-day operations. He was also Senior Vice President of UHHS and Executive Director of University Hospitals Regional Network, an organization serving multiple hospital systems in northeast Ohio.
Prior to joining UHHS, Orry was Director of Strategic Planning and Marketing at the University of Rochester Medical Center. He also served as Vice President for Corporate Planning and Services at Upstate Health System, a three-hospital system, in Rochester, New York, and as a consultant with Booz Allen Hamilton, working with hospitals and other organizations in over twenty states.
Orry received his Master of Business Administration from the University of Michigan and his Bachelor of Engineering Science from Johns Hopkins University. He has numerous professional affiliations and is active in community activities, serving or having served as an officer or director of not-for-profit organizations.
