Nancy is a Principal with BDC Advisors, LLC, with over 12 years of consulting and industry experience in the pharmaceutical / biotech and medical diagnostic areas. Prior to joining BDC Advisors, Nancy was Director of Services Strategy at Pharsight Corporation. In that role, she developed and negotiated a multi-year, multi-million dollar partnership with a major pharmaceutical client. In addition, she managed the delivery of services to this client and other major Pharsight clients. As part of the company’s annual planning process, she developed strategic plans for the Services Group, outlining in detail the group’s marketing and major account strategies, product offering plan, practice management goals and financial projections
Nancy also served as a senior manager at Frontline Strategic Consulting, where she led numerous projects for pharmaceutical and biotech companies. She conducted a comprehensive market opportunity assessment in the infectious diseases therapeutic area for a large pharmaceutical client, evaluating the client’s existing product pipeline and analyzing market potential in the context of the competitive landscape. She evaluated partnership strategies for a client’s oncology business, applying an analytical framework developed by Frontline and NPV financial modeling to evaluate various strategic options. In addition to leading projects, she was also active in business development and internal process improvement, as well as the training and career development of the consulting staff.
Prior to joining Frontline, Nancy was an engagement manager at Mitchell Madison Group, where she developed entry strategy for a B2B healthcare exchange in China based on in-country market analysis and industry surveys. She also performed due diligence on eHealth ventures for a large healthcare payer and evaluated the impact of these ventures on the financial performance of the core business.
Nancy holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree from the Haas School of Management at UC Berkeley, where she was elected VP of Finance for the student association. She received her Ph.D. in Biophysical Chemistry from UCLA. She also has a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry from Zhongshan University in Guangzhou, China.
