David is a Senior Advisor at BDC Advisors, LLC. He most recently served as President of University of Chicago Medical Center, a $1.2B health system, which includes the adult hospitals, children’s hospital, and a 700-physician faculty practice plan. He possesses more than 30 years experience in the healthcare industry and has consulted with over 80 academic medical centers, faculty practices, health systems, hospitals, and medical groups. Prior to being named President of University of Chicago Medical Center, David served four years as Executive Director and Chief Operating Officer of Penn State Hershey Medical Center, a 504-bed, 600-physician, $850 million integrated clinical enterprise serving the three million citizens of Central Pennsylvania for their tertiary and quaternary health needs.

As a consultant, prior to working with BDC Advisors, David was a Senior Partner in Computer Sciences Corporation (“CSC”)’s Global Health Solutions practice and APM Management Consultants (bought by CSC) for 12 years. He founded Consulting Concepts, Inc., a consulting firm engaged in faculty and large physician group practice operations, in 1982 and served as its CEO and managing partner until its merger with APM and CSC in 1994. David has also served as National Program Manager of BSL Technologies, and Chief Executive Officer of both Tooele Valley Health System and Crook County Health System.

David received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Administration and Computer Science from the University of Texas at Austin and a Master's Degree in Public Administration, Health Services from Brigham Young University. He has been a Governing Board Member of University HealthSystem Consortium, an Advisory Board Member of Landmark Education Corporation, and an arbitrator for the American Arbitration Association. He also serves on the boards of the Illinois Hospital Association, the AAMC’s Council of Teaching Hospitals, The Wellness Community, and United Healthcare Children’s Foundation. He has also competed as a top 10 Nationals Masters swimmer.
