Prior to joining BDC Advisors, Gabriel was an associate in the Silicon Valley office of the law firm of Jones Day where he was a member of the corporate transactions team. In his practice, he advised clients on healthcare mergers, consulted on cross-border transactions, conducted due diligence, and managed deals through closing.
Gabriel has also presented as a guest lecturer at several academic institutions. He has taught at the University of Maryland-Baltimore County in Baltimore, Maryland, on federal income tax issues as well as at Drexel University Extension in Sacramento, California, on the issues of law, politics, and higher education.
Gabriel began his professional career at the United States Tax Court as an Attorney Advisor to Judge Maurice B. Foley. While at the Tax Court, he was responsible for the drafting of federal tax case law, writing and editing Court opinions, and advising the division on issues presented before the judiciary in Court Conference.
Gabriel holds a LL.M in Taxation from Georgetown University Law Center, where he graduated cum laude. He also holds Juris Doctorate and a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of California-Berkeley.
