Larry is a Senior Advisor with BDC Advisors, LLC and has over 20 years of healthcare industry experience. He provides leadership in strategy and business planning, network design and configuration, network operations and organization, and facilitated dispute resolution.
Specific experience includes:
Larry has worked with a Catholic health system in the development of a Medicare risk strategy and a Medicaid Provider Service Network, a large integrated delivery system market revenue enhancement strategy, several integrated delivery systems on network design and revenue strategy issues. He also has worked with integrated delivery systems in Southern California in conflict resolution and mediation.
Prior to joining BDC Advisors, Larry served as Corporate Counsel for Catholic Healthcare West (CHW), a major non-profit, multi-corporate health system in the western United States for over 10 years. Larry’s accomplishments with CHW included the responsibility for formation of the health system in 1986 and over 50 major transactions including mergers, acquisitions, and joint ventures. During his tenure with CHW, Larry served as regional general counsel to Mercy Healthcare Sacramento and was responsible for managing the legal affairs in this CHW Division. Larry had principal responsibility for the development of the CHW Antitrust Compliance Program and was the author of the CHW Corporate Compliance Program. Larry previously served in a health law practice in Northern California where he focused on mergers, acquisitions, joint ventures, and transaction activities, as well as licensing, litigation management, and medical staff issues. He has also served as Assistant Counsel for the University of California, where he served as in-house counsel to five hospitals, outpatient clinics, five schools of medicine, and two psychiatric facilities.
Larry is currently on the Adjunct Faculty of USC, the UC Davis Graduate School of Management, and the USF College of Professional Studies. Larry obtained his Juris Doctorate at the University of California, Los Angeles School of Law and has a Bachelor of Arts in History from the University of California, Berkeley. He is currently the Past President of the California Society for Healthcare Attorneys and is a member of the California and Sacramento County Bar Associations. Larry also serves on the Board of Trustees of Loretto High School in Sacramento. Larry published an article on the July 1998 Edition of the Healthcare Financial Management Associations Magazine entitled “Pay For Performance: Moving Beyond Capitation.”
