Orry grew up in Baltimore and attended Johns Hopkins University, where he began his health care career doing performance improvement projects. Following graduation, he received his MBA from the University of Michigan and began his consulting career in Booz Allen Hamilton’s Health and Medical Division doing strategic planning, facility planning and financial feasibility projects.
Orry brings a unique perspective from his over 40 years of health care industry experience, having served in both staff and line roles, working for several individual hospitals, health systems, and academic medical centers. He has had responsibility for strategic planning and marketing in a number of settings, and also served as COO for a major academic medical center. Orry has had significant experience with employed physician groups, management services organizations, academic health centers, managed care, capitated reimbursement programs, and regional healthcare systems. In his role at BDC Advisors, Orry specializes in clinical service planning and delivery, strategic planning, organization design, physician organizations, performance benchmarking, and regional delivery system / network development.
Orry is married and has three married sons. He is active in community affairs and is past president of his synagogue. Orry has held numerous leadership positions with the Jewish Community Federation of Cleveland, including Vice Chair and Chair of the Allocations Committee. Orry and his wife love to travel, both to see their children and grandchildren, and to experience new cultures.
