Rick is a native of the Midwest, growing up in Elmhurst, Illinois, where he received his Bachelor of Science degree with high honors in Business Administration and Economics from Elmhurst College. Rick received his Master of Management (MBA) from the J.L. Kellogg Graduate School of Management, Northwestern University, where he was named a Distinguished Scholar.
Rick offers his clients a deep knowledge of healthcare delivery and finance over his 30 years in both consulting and senior executive positions. He founded BDC Advisors, LLC 20 years ago following his executive positions at Booz Allen Hamilton and Coopers and Lybrand, as well as serving as Senior Vice President, Corporate Development and Management, for a regional division of a multi-state health system and Chief Executive Officer of a multi-site, multi-specialty physician group practice in Southern California.
Rick is Founder and President of The Leadership Institute, an organization encompassing over 50 major healthcare systems dedicated to advancing governance and management of care delivery systems. He is also Co Founder and a Director of CI-Now, a firm that assists providers in building and managing clinically integrated hospital - physician networks. Rick presently serves on the Boards of several investor-owned companies and is a frequent speaker on physician, health system and health plan topics.
The father of a 24 year old son who is an actor living in Chicago and a 22 year old daughter who is a college student in San Francisco, Rick is passionate about water sports and sailboat racing. He also enjoys cycling and working out.
