BDC Advisors is pleased to announce that Rick Wesslund, Founder and Chairman, is actively returning to the role of Chief Executive Officer. Rick’s visionary leadership and deep expertise have shaped BDC Advisors since its founding in 1990, guiding the firm’s strategy and client engagements with many of the nation’s most respected healthcare organizations. As CEO, Rick will continue to drive innovation and excellence, leveraging his decades of experience in strategic planning, organizational design, and partnership development to advance our mission and deliver outstanding results for our clients. BDC Advisors is poised for continued growth and leadership in healthcare consulting, building on a legacy of trusted advisory and forward-thinking solutions.

BDC Advisors stands apart through its exclusive focus on healthcare and its pioneering approach to solving complex industry challenges. For over three decades, the firm has been “thinking around corners,” delivering first-of-their-kind solutions such as the first clinically-integrated and value-based care network, the first single-signature PPO contracting model, and the transformation of a $100B integrated health plan’s care delivery strategy. BDC’s leadership in innovation also includes guiding the merger of prominent secular and Catholic health systems and serving as lead expert witness in a complex statewide health system bankruptcy involving 14 hospitals and 31,000 people. BDC brings unmatched payer–provider expertise and delivers bespoke strategies—not off the shelf playbooks—tailored to each client’s market context.

Clients benefit from BDC’s inverted pyramid model, where senior industry experts—often with 30+ years of experience—lead engagements directly. This model ensures that clients work with professionals who intimately understand the complexities of provider and payer dynamics. BDC’s disciplined, analytics-driven approach combines strategic insight with rigorous evidence-based analysis, helping organizations address immediate needs while building long-term, sustainable solutions. Our engagements consistently deliver bold, actionable strategies with measurable impact—clients typically recoup professional fees with an ROI of 10x–30x, and greater than 100x for payer-provider projects in years 3–5. To date, BDC has helped clients realize more than $7 billion in measurable enterprise value across growth, integration, and performance improvement initiatives.

Dr. Andy Ziskind has retired from BDC Advisors, and we extend our heartfelt gratitude for his leadership and many contributions to our clients and the firm. We wish him all the best as he embarks on this next chapter of his journey.

As Rick resumes the CEO role, BDC Advisors reaffirms its commitment to transformative engagements that advance organizational capabilities and optimize outcomes. Whether supporting health systems, academic medical centers, provider organizations, or payers, BDC remains a trusted partner in driving market-oriented constructive change.
